Medical Physicist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Medical Physicist to collaborate with our Engineering and cross-functional teams. The primary role involves supporting the development, sustainment, and enhancement of diagnostic and therapeutic systems. Utilizing a profound understanding of the scientific principles behind imaging and therapeutic processes, the Medical Physicist ensures the safe and effective delivery of radiation for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply scientific knowledge of physics to the development and use of advanced medical devices and technologies.
- Provide expert medical physics support during the research and development phases of imaging systems.
- Explore imaging properties and operating parameters to enhance system performance, reliability, and clinical functionality.
- Conduct investigations and troubleshooting for complex and unusual problems.
- Interface with medical physicists and clinicians to assist Marketing, Customer Experience, and Field Service teams in resolving customer issues with released products.
- Support the MQSA Quality Control program for all Breast Health x-ray systems and assist with QC training for end users.
- Contribute to systems engineering activities, including concept development, specification, design, and implementation for new and existing products.
- Support the development and documentation of relevant product features, ensuring they reflect user needs and feedback.
- Evaluate imaging performance during system integration.
- Mentor and guide peers to promote learning, development, and knowledge transfer; help teams build imaging product expertise.
- Participate in a workplace culture of continuous improvement and champion opportunities to implement new tools, technologies, and methods to enhance the product development process.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and processes.
Qualifications:
Education
- Minimum Technical Degree: Master’s Degree in Medical Physics or related field.
- Preferred Technical/Advanced Degree: PhD in Medical Physics or related field.
Experience
- Minimum: 3+ years of experience with a Master’s Degree, or 0+ years with a PhD.
- Preferred: Experience with medical device design and development processes conforming to standards including IEC 62366, IEC 60601, and FDA regulations.

- In-depth knowledge and experience across various engineering disciplines.
- Expertise in the creation, processing, storage, retrieval, and analysis of medical images.
- Ability to contribute to the development of new devices and technologies for diagnostic radiology.
- Thorough understanding of Medical Physics in Diagnostic Radiology, including imaging systems, image quality, image optimization, and patient dosimetry.
- Solid understanding of medical device product design and regulatory processes.
- Strong contributor to high-performing teams.
- Ability to work with a high degree of independence.

The annualized base salary range for this role is $94,300 to $147,400 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
